For more than 28 years, I've worked alongside families, healthcare organizations, and communities to improve maternal and infant health. As a nurse, researcher, educator, and community leader, my work brings together evidence-informed research, community partnership, and innovation to create practical solutions that improve healthcare experiences.
Every initiative begins with listening to the people it is designed to serve.

About Dr. Corinn Taylor

Dr. Corinn Taylor, EdD, MSN, RN, is a nurse researcher, maternal health innovator, educator, and healthcare leader with more than 28 years of experience advancing maternal and infant health through research, education, and community partnership.

As Founder and Executive Director of The Empowerment Foundation, Dr. Taylor leads community-engaged research and develops evidence-informed programs that transform the lived experiences of women into practical solutions that improve healthcare delivery and maternal health outcomes.

She also serves as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing, where she integrates community-engaged research into nursing education and mentors the next generation of healthcare professionals. Beyond academia, she is committed to cultivating future leaders through mentorship and service within the nursing profession.

Dr. Taylor's work is built on a simple belief: the people most affected by healthcare challenges should help shape the solutions. This philosophy has led to a connected portfolio of initiatives, including Amplifying Voices, a community-engaged maternal health listening and research initiative; Empowered Connections, a trauma-informed care education program; and EmpowerHealth Watch, a maternal health literacy and self-advocacy platform designed to help women better understand their care and navigate pregnancy with confidence.

In addition to her research and leadership, Dr. Taylor serves on several community and professional boards, including Black Women Cultivating Change, Queens Village, Blaq Birth Circle, and as Maternal Health Committee Chair for the Black Child Development Institute (BCDI) Ohio.

Through every partnership, training, research study, and innovation, Dr. Taylor remains committed to transforming community voices into research, education, and practical solutions that create more equitable and compassionate maternal healthcare.
